Weekly Challenge #100: "DivaDance"

Maria Thomas, one of the two founders of Zentangle, let fly a new tangle pattern called 'divadance' in honor of the Diva's 100th challenge. I really like this pattern and am looking forward to spending some quality time with the rock & roll variation. You can see the original post here.

I hereby present to you my very whiskery tile... it's so hard to stop once I get going with those little wispy things. Kinda looks like a bunch of bugs are playing hide-and-seek, doesn't it. :oD

Have a wonderful week, and happy new year!

  6. Oh Sandy, thank you sooo much for your lovely comment! I am very flattered. I am so thrilled with your idea for storage and am really enjoying compiling the album. Tangling is the greatest fun, and this time last year I had no idea that I'd have a serious addiction problem a year hence!!

I've bookmarked Diva Dance and its variations as it's definitely one I'm going to try, and it will go in my album. I adore what you've done with it in this post! I especially like the little frilly skirt and the necklaces. I must incorporate more dingly dangly thingies in my tangles - nice and flamboyant!

I've now started designing tangles myself and have submitted some to Linda Farmer on the Tangle Patterns site. She's snowed under at the moment but once she's got time, they will come off the back burner and come under her eagle-eyed scrutiny to see if they are suitable for inclusion! I am mega thrilled about this as it's a new departure for me. What fun it all is! One of the greatest benefits is all the lovely people you meet through it.

  7. Hi Sandy, thanks for your lovely comment! Glad you like my first tangle on the Tangle Patterns site. I must say I feel very, very chuffed and flattered to feature on there! By the way, I've finished the cover of my new Zentangle album if you want to pop over and have a look:

I am so grateful to you for the idea of storing the patterns like this. I have now done about 50 cards, and I'm so enjoying doing it, and trying to make art from each example.

Hope you enjoy drawing Y-Ful Power. I can't wait to see what people come up with, using my pattern! I've submitted a few others too, but I know how busy Linda has been, producing the 2013 Guide, and she's got a lot of catching up to do.

This is such an adventure, isn't it! I stumbled across Zentangle through a WOYWW blog-hop friend - she'd done a tree and I fell in love with it, and started to explore, and was instantly hooked.

    Have a great weekend.

  8. Hi Sandy,
I love your swirly, "whiskery" DivaDance tangle! I'm a relatively new tangler, and I was just wondering if the cute little skirt near the bottom left of your tangle was a tangle pattern, or based on a tangle pattern. I'd love to know the name so I could add it to my repertoire.
    Thank you!

  9. Hi Sandy,
I love you swirly "whiskery" take on DivaDance. I was wondering if the cute little skirt at the bottom was a tangle pattern, and if so, what it was called.

    Best-
    Rachel

  10. Welcome to tangleville! I don't think that one really has a name (it was a happy accident), but look up dragonair... bet you'll love it!
